GIVE ME BACK MY LIFE!
Its been awhile since the last radiation treatment. Side effects are bothersome. Lack of energy, minimal strength and mental drain go along with the neuropathy. There goes my hope for a quick recovery. Although, my skin has healed from the radiation burns, there is pain in the tissue underneath. And, there's lymphedema to deal with now. My lymphedema therapist is wonderful. She is so caring and helpful. In fact, I have not had one negative experience with any of the folks in the cancer center at St. Anthony's hospital.
The radiation technicians recommend using Aloe Vera lotion on the skin during treatments. (I think it is fading my age spots from my hands.) Also, drinking Aloe Vera juice helps the healing process from inside the body.
Doxorubicin was one of the chemo treatments I received for six months. It can cause severe heart damage. Due to breathing discomfort, my radiation doctor ordered an echocardiography of my heart. I won't learn the results until after the holiday.
