This project is personal. Very personal. The effects of Catastrophic Illnesses and Events touch all of us and I am no exception. These circumstances have impacted my family, friends, co-workers, and now more recently, even people who were once strangers. The needs I have experienced and those that I have witnessed have compelled me to enter into the journey we call ReachOutGiving.

I believe burdens become more bearable and the healing power of hope grows in the hearts of people struggling with health challenges when a community of loved ones, friends, co-workers, and strangers come together to offer tangible financial and emotional support,  We call this….The Mystery of Community.

I am passionate about the ReachOutGiving business model. It has been established to be inclusive without boundaries of any kind with respect to churches, businesses, and all other organizations. The Client Page branding functionality gives it tremendous versatility - churches can minister to people in a new way, businesses and all other organizations can offer additional value to employees, members, their local community, and beyond.

ReachOutGiving is an exciting adventure. Since its inception, we have imagined, developed, planned, implemented and produced a tool to empower people helping people. We have made the community and the community is making us. As more and more people are embracing the community, we are finding new avenues of service and new ideas, new ways to connect. ReachOutGiving is always developing, always in process, always growing, but it never abandons the foundational values and core ideas of empowering people to make a difference in the lives of people.

Because of my background in volunteer and non-profit organizations, I have a real desire to see volunteers enlisted, trained and strategically placed to insure the future growth of ReachOutGiving. It really does take a community; a community of like minded individuals, all working together to see their mutual goals and plans established.

For a number of years I've had the opportunity to work together with people who are hurting around the world. Their pain and suffering result from a variety of causes - poverty, poor health, lack of education, conflict, oppression, natural disaster, etc.

I almost always walk away from these encounters with two very strong reactions. The first is the reaffirmation of the resiliency of the human spirit. I never cease to be amazed at how people learn to cope under the most difficult of circumstances.

The second is the awareness that so much more could be done to help those in need.

A common characteristic of those who persevere through the most devastating situations is the presence of hope. If people have hope, their capacity to survive, even thrive, is multiplied many times over.

Hope comes in many forms....but, most often through the support and embrace of someone who cares. When those who are hurting find themselves as the recipient of someone's compassion and support, that gives them enormous hope. And, hope enables them to look beyond the pain and circumstances to find joy in life....even though the circumstances would suggest otherwise. Hope is powerful!

ReachOutGiving provides an opportunity for you to be that beacon of hope for someone going though difficult times. It enables you to be part of (or, even initiate) a community of prayer, encouragement and financial support for those who, because of illness, are facing difficult challenges in life.
